Faedra was enjoying the fact that everything was back to normal, well as normal as it could get when you had the ability to manipulate energy, were protector of an ancient Fae amulet, and lived with a fairy guardian 24/7. Her dad had even started dating. Yes, all was right again in Faedra’s world, or so she thought…
The Emerald Staff Custodian Novel # 2 The Custodian Novels edition by Alison Pensy Children eBooks
The second of the 'Custodian Novels'. Faedra continues to try to come to terms with her new situation, her Fairy Guardian and his sister. And they are up against the problem of finding the Emerald Staff in order to find the Ruby Staff which was in the possession of the evil, wicked Fairy Princess. The only problem is they have to get past an army of Red Caps to reach the Gate Keeper who will decide whether or not they will be able to even see the owner of the Emerald Staff. Oh and did I mention that this was in the Realm of Dragons?Again, another good read, in my opinion. This book has some wit and funny spots, but it also has the tension of 'if they will make it through the next challenge', and teen angst and heartbreak and all the problems that brings.
I enjoyed reading it, in fact I loved it.

The Emerald Staff Custodian Novel # 2 The Custodian Novels edition by Alison Pensy Children eBooks Reviews
This series is very very good ! It has something for everyone from fantasy with their magic and dragons to romance , I got book 1 free and bought the next 3 because I got hooked . Very entertaining , faedra was very realistic as a teenager gave me quite a few laughs too . Very worthwhile reading this set I will definitely recommend them
I read the first book by this author " The Amulet A Faedra Bennett Custodian Story". I enjoyed it enough to buy the second book, "The Emerald Staff". The Emerald Staff furthers the adventure of Faedra and Faen into the world of Azran, a fairy kingdom which is also the home for all kinds of mythical creatures. I liked the story concept and the characters who live there. There is humor and adventure. The book picks up right where the first book left off. The hero and heroine must fight and escape the murderous Redcaps. They ride a giant Valkyrie horse and travel to the land of the dragons. They come face to face with the dragon king who hates humans and tries to exterminate them on sight. They go on a quest to find the dragon's egg. Then the showdown battle between good and evil. Some of the plot is predictable. For example I knew that the woman that the father had fallen for was the unscrupulous fairy out to kill Faedra for the amulet. It's a good read. I look forward to the continuing adventures of Faedra and Faen in Azran. For those who like to read books of magic, fairies, and dragons this is for you. It's in the same world of books as "Wizard's Ward".
I bought this book immediately after reading book one The Amulet. I was not disappointed. It was a great continuation of the story and characters introduced in book one. I enjoyed reading more about the Fae land and culture plus the interesting new characters. It is also lovely to see how Faedra develops both in her powers and her relationships. A well written and thought out story in a genre overwhelmed by quick to publish one demensional duds. I can't wait for book three!
I read the first book in the series yesterday and eagerly purchased the second a few hours ago. The characters are very likable and the story is engrossing. That being said, I wish the author knew the difference between past and passed, and how to use each correctly. The text lacks proper punctuation and the dialogue fluctuates between unnatural formality and confusing slang. It has the potential to be a best seller, with a little work.
I found this one not so much fun as the first novel, not nearly so inventive. In this book, we are down to the characters, with less worlds building. I'd have had to enjoy the people far more to enjoy this entry in series.
Still, as the first was free, and I feel I should have paid for it from the amount of fun I had, its not a problem )
I really enjoyed this second book in the series - as much as I enjoyed the first one. The character development was really good - I loved the hero/heroine and hated the bad guys. ) I appreciated that is was clean, and the story line was interesting and had a satisfying ending. I have already bought the third book and look forward to reading that one, too.
There's lots to like about this series. It's entertaining and keeps the reader's attention. That being said, I find it disconcerting that the narrative often jumps from one place to another leaving the reader with little of the details to paste it together. It's like skimming and only getting the major parts without the filler that keeps it real. It makes me think the author is ready to finish the story quickly so leaves out all the background in order to get it done.
